This Privacy Policy describes how SaniCarpet, a brand of LODI LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit sanicarpetcleaner.com, make a purchase, sign up for our email list, or otherwise interact with us.

We’re a small business. We try to be honest in plain language about what we do with your information. If anything here is unclear, you can reach us anytime at privacy@sanicarpetcleaner.com.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

When you sign up for our email list, place an order, or contact us, you give us:

Contact information: name, email address, shipping address, phone number (if provided)
Payment information: processed by our payment processors (WooCommerce Payments, Stripe, or PayPal, depending on your selection at checkout). We don’t store full credit card numbers on our servers.
Order information: what you bought, when, and the shipping details
Communications: if you reply to our emails or contact us, we keep that correspondence
Marketing preferences: whether you joined our email list through a purchase or a signup form, when, and your current subscription status

Information we collect automatically

When you visit our site:

Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, screen resolution, referring URL
Usage data: pages visited, time on page, click patterns, search terms used on our site
Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 6 below

Information from third parties

Payment processors (WooCommerce Payments, Stripe, PayPal) confirm whether your transaction succeeded
Shipping carriers provide tracking and delivery confirmation
Email service providers (MailPoet, Amazon SES) report engagement metrics like opens and clicks
Analytics providers (if installed) report aggregated site usage data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Process and fulfill orders — including shipping, customer service, refunds, and warranty issues
Send transactional emails — order confirmations, shipping notifications, delivery confirmations
Send marketing emails — to customers who have made a purchase and to people who sign up for our email list, at a typical frequency of about twice a month. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.
Improve our products and website — through aggregated analytics that don’t identify individual users
Respond to questions and feedback — when you reply to emails or contact us directly
Comply with legal obligations — tax records, fraud prevention, regulatory requests
Protect against fraud and abuse — including IP-based blocking of obvious bot traffic

How you join our marketing list

When you make a purchase from SaniCarpetCleaner.com, we add your email address to our marketing email list so we can send you carpet care tips, product updates, and occasional offers. You can also join by signing up through a form on our site.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing us at privacy@sanicarpetcleaner.com. Once you unsubscribe, we stop sending marketing emails. We will still send transactional emails related to your orders — order confirmations, shipping notifications, and customer service replies — because those are needed to complete your purchase.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, advertising networks, or any third party.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and security practices. We choose providers with strong reputations for data handling.

Legal disclosures

We will share information when legally required — for example, in response to a subpoena, court order, or government investigation. We’ll resist overreaching requests when we can.

Business transfers

If LODI LLC is sold, merged, or acquired, your information may transfer to the new owner. The new owner will be bound by this policy or will give you notice of changes.

4. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have certain rights regarding your personal information.

All customers

You can:

Access the information we have about you
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you live in California, you have additional rights:

Right to know what categories of personal information we’ve collected about you, sources, and purposes
Right to delete personal information we’ve collected
Right to correct inaccurate personal information
Right to opt-out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we don’t currently sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising, but you can confirm this preference)
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information
Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights

To exercise these rights, email privacy@sanicarpetcleaner.com. We’ll verify your identity before responding (typically by confirming order details or email ownership).

You can also designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf.

Washington residents (My Health My Data Act)

If you live in Washington state and we collect any data that could be classified as “consumer health data” under the Washington My Health My Data Act:

We will obtain your specific, opt-in consent before collecting it
We will obtain separate consent before sharing it
We will respond to deletion requests for health data within 30 days
We do not sell consumer health data

Note: SaniCarpet does not currently collect consumer health data through its website or email marketing. If our practices change, we’ll update this policy and obtain consent before doing so.

EU / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you live in the EU or UK, you also have:

Right of access, rectification, and erasure
Right to data portability
Right to restrict or object to processing
Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Our legal basis for processing is typically your consent (for marketing) or legitimate interest / contractual necessity (for fulfilling orders).

5. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as required by law.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies for:

Essential functions — keeping you logged in, remembering items in your cart
Analytics — understanding how visitors use the site (anonymized)

Our email marketing tool (MailPoet) records whether you open the emails we send you and whether you click the links in them, tied to your subscriber record. We use this to measure engagement and to manage our list — for example, to identify subscribers who are no longer opening our emails. This applies to the marketing emails we send, and you can stop it entirely by unsubscribing.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Some site functions may not work if you do.

We honor “Do Not Track” signals and the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal.

7. Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information, including:

HTTPS encryption on all pages
Secure password practices on our backend
Limited internal access to customer data (small business — primarily the founder)
Reputable service providers with their own security programs

No system is perfect. If we ever experience a data breach involving your information, we’ll notify you as required by law (and typically within 30 days of discovery).

8. Children’s Privacy

Our site and products are not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@sanicarpetcleaner.com and we’ll delete it.

9. International Users

We’re based in the United States. If you’re using our site from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using our site, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. When we make material changes, we’ll:

Update the “Last updated” date at the top
Send a notice to email subscribers
Post a prominent notice on the site for at least 30 days

For minor changes (typo corrections, formatting), we’ll just update the date.
